I’m not sure what this is. A love letter to my wife, probably. As usual, it’s just something off the cuff (should not all love letters be off the cuff?) without too much regard for artistry or poetic form.
To be honest, I was just enamoured by the term ‘love in the rain’ which seems to convey so much truth and meaning …. it just took me a few lines to get to it.
Whatever.
Make of it what you will.

Though it rains
Nay, it pours
I remain
Always yours
Through the mud
Through the blood
Through my faults
Through your flaws
Through the years
Through the tears
Through the floods
Through the droughts
Whatever the weather
Never fears
Never doubts
Forever together
Through the joy, through the pain
There is peace in the tempest
And love in the rain

I like it!

Looking at it now, I think it sounds like a Hallmark greeting card. But worse.

stop that. lol, it’s from the heart, not the Hallmark greeting card shelf…and that makes all the difference.

Well …. thank you. But I’m out of work right now, so if I apply for a creative position at Hallmark can I rely on your support?

absolutely. your stuff sounds real, because it is. Hallmark sounds generic. And there’s the difference.
